Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your mental health care will cost.

Under the No Surprises Act, health care providers must give clients who are uninsured or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency services, including psychotherapy.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency services before you schedule, or at any time during treatment upon request.
  • Your Good Faith Estimate will include the expected cost per session and an estimate for a course of care.
  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill through the federal patient–provider dispute resolution process.
  • Make sure to keep a copy of your Good Faith Estimate.

Current self-pay rate: $250 per 50-minute session. Because the length and frequency of therapy depend on your individual needs, a personalized estimate will be provided in writing before your first session.
